I began my journey as a poet in my twenties and as a photographer about eight years ago. As an artist who loves to capture the ethereal beauty of nature from my West Coast island home, it is a privilege for me to have been able to share my poetic images and words through ‘Rhen’s Poetry’ Feature Page in each issue of AQUA Gulf Islands Living Magazine from 2018 -2021.
I have also been an ESL (English as a Second Language ) Instructor for over 20 years, and I love using my photos to help my students learn more about our precious wildlife and their habitats while they learn a new language.
I am very grateful to be living on an island where I am literally surrounded by majestic mountains and captivating landscapes and where wildlife abounds in the wilderness right outside my door.
My two books of poetic images and words, Delta of the Ravens and A Bridge Between Two Worlds, are my odes to the incredible natural environment and the wild ones who bring me such a sense of peace and joy.
I hope viewers will enjoy my images as I continue along my photographic journey on Vancouver Island.
