I do not consider myself a professional by any means. I am an advanced enthusiast, perhaps.
I have been dabbling with cameras since my youth. The first camera was a Polaroid, used more as a novelty or a toy in the mid-1970s. A few years later, a Pentax K1000 was purchased with great anticipation but minimal usage over the years. Along the way, a Kodak Disc camera provided a good deal of fun, as did the first digital camera – a Minolta that did not even have a card slot – what a pain! Next came a Canon 60D with a pair of kit lenses. This led to the purchase of a 70-200mm L second-hand lens, which was used right up until a couple of years ago when the mirrorless systems made their way into the fold.
My primary subjects are birds, wildlife, landscapes and nature. However, just about anything that catches my attention will end up in front of my lens. After all, “You miss every shot you never take!” Paraphrased from NHL Hockey Legend, Wayne Gretzky.
