On a perfectly clear night in August 2024, I set out to capture the Milky Way arching over the Frankfort Lighthouse in Michigan. The conditions were flawless: there was no moon, calm winds, and a sky full of stars. I walked out onto the pier, surrounded by the gentle sound of waves, and set up my camera for long exposures.
As the night deepened, the lighthouse stood tall beneath the endless sky, and the Milky Way stretched across the sky, perfectly aligned over the structure. The stillness and beauty of the moment felt timeless as if the lighthouse and stars had been quietly waiting for this alignment.
