I decided to take a weekend trip out of Chicago to the Southwest shores of Michigan during winter. This can be a beautiful escape, but during this time of year, the cold is almost unbearable.
The sun began to set, so I ran down to the South Haven lighthouse, and to my surprise, ice was hanging off of everything. I counted the big waves so I wouldn't get soaked in the freezing water. Once a big one had passed, I set my tripod low to the ground and quickly snapped this shot.
