The Vienna Woods are forested highlands that form the northeastern foothills of the Northern Limestone Alps in the states of Lower Austria and Vienna. They are a protected biosphere reserve, and this particular forest - called Dorotheerwald - is one of its 37 core zones. It consists mainly of hornbeams and oaks. We were hiking there on a bright day in spring. The backlit bright green foliage was very appealing to me, and even the black and white conversion conveys a lot of the atmosphere in my opinion.
