Living in the Pacific Northwest, there is always a gamble of getting a night sky clear of clouds. When the chance to view the comet Neowise arrived, luck was with me, and it was a clear night.
I planned my location to view it and made the 20-mile drive to my destination. Unfortunately, about 20 other cars had the same idea. This is where knowing an area comes in very handy. I quickly reassessed my plans and decided to drive out to another location with a wide-open field.
I was hoping the light pollution wouldn't be too bad, as I had never been there at night. Luckily, the stars and sky were with me, and I was able to wait to capture the comet Neowise as it aligned with these two old oaks. I call this "Welcome Neowise".
