During our recent trip to Yukon, Canada, we encountered a variety of conditions, including a severe snowstorm that lasted for two days, followed by two nights of completely clear skies. This photo was taken during the early part of the storm when it was intermittently clearing up. After that, we found ourselves confined to our tent and had to call for an early chopper evacuation.
The mountain peaks were mostly obscured while we camped at their base. However, when the storm began to clear, it created a surreal light show at night! With temperatures dropping to -15°C and strong winds, taking photos was quite challenging. Fortunately, we were three friends working together, which made it easier to overcome these conditions. If I had been alone, there's no way I would have gotten out of my sleeping bag in the middle of the night in such frigid temperatures and high winds—especially with piles of snow all around!
