There are several lighthouses on the island of Sylt, but this one is very close to the most northern part of Germany. It is one of the oldest lighthouses in Germany, built of iron, and is still active. It can be reached after a short walk from a parking place at the end of a private road.
Sunset conditions boost the sky a lot. The painting is occasionally renovated to attract tourists. Note that the surroundings are private, and the whole area is a nature reserve. The picture was taken from the famous beach.
