This image was taken after a long safari in Kgalagadi, and we felt we needed something different!
The place chosen was Benguerra Island in the Bazaruto National Park area of Mozambique, where the seas are azure blue and the huge sand dunes a brilliant white. Our villa was on the beachfront, so it was easy to catch the setting sun. This coast was very photogenic for evening shots, including sailing ships against the sunset.
Two days after we left, Storm Kenneth, a hurricane, pummeled the site; storms were also affecting the coast much further north. So we felt very lucky to have found this paradise at the correct time.
