In November 2008, my wife and I spent 3 weeks in Vietnam. During our visit, we had a driver and a qualified guide. The morning I took this shot, we were in Ha Long Bay (Hạ Long means "descending dragon"). Hạ Long Bay has an area of around 600 square miles and contains 1,969 islets, most of which are limestone.

We boarded a traditional junk, shared with other people, for a cruise on the Bay of Dragons. In the afternoon during the cruise, I spotted two large rock stacks emerging from the lovely emerald-coloured water, with a narrow passage between them. Looking up, I imagined seeing two animals arguing nose-to-nose!

I took my camera and went to the junk's bow, which, appropriately, had a Dragon sculpture. I framed the image to include all three elements.

Vietnam is a wonderful country to visit and to photograph.
