While traveling by train across Canada, amazing landscapes unfolded with every clickety-clack of the big steel wheels on the rails! The well-known and well-photographed Rocky Mountains gifted us with many awesome scenes.
It was May, so the ice was still evident on the edges of many of the lakes. In this particular photo, the clouds softened the day's light and gave a rather moody look above the still waters. Moose Lake is the name given to this body of water and is the only lake along the Fraser River.
The Yellowhead Highway and the Canadian National Railway tracks closely follow the north lakeshore, so tourists and locals enjoy several miles of photographic opportunities. From between two swaying passenger cars, I snapped this almost perfect reflection cast in this incredible scene. Next stop: Jasper, Alberta.
