This is the lower fjord slope on the Pacific side of the Northern Patagonia Ice Field in Chile. I was taken in the morning from a sea kayaking camp on an expedition that paddled a full circuit around the circumference of Laguna San Rafael.
Winter was starting to set in, and these mountains would be dusted with snow after a heavy rain. We experienced almost 28 days of rain on this voyage. Part of our expedition was an alpine approach on the other side of the ice field, thankfully in the Andes' rain shadow. I used a Nikon D850 with a standard 24-120 mm lens, and the bane of my existence was keeping humidity out of my dry bag.
