The best time to visit the Vercelli countryside is in spring, when the rice fields are flooded for rice planting. This offersfers nature photography lovers beautiful shots with reflections of the clouds and plants, like this one I'm presenting to you.
We are in Prarolo, near the graveyard, where, in the early afternoon, the rice fields started to put on a show with bright reflections.
Once the land has been prepared around mid-April, it will be flooded, giving life to the famous "checkered seas" in which the rice will be sown by scattering.
Rice cultivation is, in fact, the crop that optimizes the use of water resources the best.
There is also dry sowing, also known as sowing in underground rows. Rice sowing is approached in this sense in a similar way to that of other straw-bearing cereals. Returning to photography, the best time for those who can obviously, would be not only the afternoon but also the sunset, always underexposing respectively to -0.7 or -1.0 to give more emphasis to the darkness of the sky, to the sharp colors of the clouds, to these reflections so special, romantic, harmonious in the silence of the evening quiet.
Prarolo is only a small rural center, but its 360-degree view around Monte Rosa with these rice fields offers something very large and brilliant. That something brings magic, exciting not only for those who capture this landscape photograph for the first time but also for us habitual ones. I recommend all photography lovers visit these small, large, magical places.
