I happened to have the day off this late October morning, and happily, the forecast of fog was correct, so I made myself a cup of coffee, grabbed my gear, and headed out the door to a nice local spot close to my house.
Lake Fenwick is an unassuming little lake surrounded by trees that can look nice in the fall. It's popular with local fisherman and birders, but it's actually nothing special scenery-wise. When the conditions are right though, it's a totally different story. And so it was on this particular morning.
The fog was thick, and I wasn't sure it would thin out enough to get any worthwhile images. Luckily, I was proven wrong when the sun rose high enough to pierce the mist with beautiful beams of light, creating a perfect reflection on the calm waters of the lake. This image is my favorite of many I took that morning, and it's one I'll never forget.
