Redwoods, rhodies, and fog. The perfect combination, hence the title. After the previous morning of dream conditions, with the sun breaking through the fog and beams everywhere, this particular morning was more subdued. The drifting fog created an ethereal atmosphere: classic conditions for this area, so I had no complaints.
When I came upon this scene, I thought it perfectly embodied what this area is all about in late spring: the giant old-growth redwoods, the blooming rhododendrons, and the drifting fog. This wound up being one of my favorites of the trip.
