I went to the pier in the Marin Headlands, where fishermen and crabbers often go in the early morning. The pier is at Cavallo Point, at the entrance to San Francisco Bay, across the water from San Francisco. As the sun rose, Alcatraz Island and a part of San Francisco became visible, and a crow landed on the pier railing.
