Shortly before dawn, we set off for the Black Sea coast to photograph seascapes. The roads were busy with traffic, and we were already running late for our original sunrise spot. That is why we stopped at a town halfway there and decided to capture the sunrise instead.
The sun was just about to rise behind the lighthouse. We positioned ourselves in a park overlooking the cliff where it stood. My original plan had been to shoot from a spot further to the left, but the entrance was closed, so I worked with the best angle I could find.
Just as I was wishing for something interesting to bring the frame to life, beautiful clouds began drifting into view. At the same moment, the soft, warm light of the rising sun painted the sky and clouds in glowing shades of orange.
