Lilled Path In Color, Lake Skadar, Montenegro

The inspiration for this shot was the symmetry between the path of water and its surrounding lilies. That made the shot irresistible for me. The shot serves as a comparative photo for the black and white version already posted. I liked them both in color and black and white. What do you think?
The Royston Gap, Vancouver Island, Canada

The small town of Royston is located just south of Courtenay on the east side of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. I have walked the beach in Royston many times. But on this cloudy day I walked on a path that leads north of town. When I turned around, I spotted the clouds forming and […]
Sossusvlei Sunrise, Namib Desert, Namibia

Sossusvlei is a salt and clay pan surrounded by high sand dunes in the southern Namib Desert. It is among the most famous attractions in Namibia. I traveled there at dawn and climbed one of the huge sand dunes shortly after to catch the sunrise. From the top of the dune, I looked across the […]
Goblin Valley Sunset, Utah, USA

I spent a few hours in the afternoon wandering the endless hoodoos in Goblin Valley, Utah. I had been to the location before and, as a landscape photographer, it is pretty overwhelming, with so many hoodoos that blend into the landscape. This makes finding a nice composition very hard. After exploring for quite a while […]
Overflight Namib Desert, Namibia

At my first time in Namibia, I was lucky that the weather conditions were good and that other people were interested in a flight over the Namib to the coast of Namibia. We had a great day in Sossusvlei before, walking around between the dunes and in the vlei. We started in the late afternoon […]
Desert Sun Shade, Dune 45, Namib-Naukluft National Park, Namibia

There isn’t a lot of relief from the desert sun near Dune Number 45, and latterly I was very grateful for this natural parasol providing much-needed shade. The early morning light turned the iron-rich sand dunes orange, with occasional gusts of hot desert wind blowing plumes of sand off the dune summit, framed against an […]
Wind Shaped Dunes, California Desert, USA

One of my favorite places to explore photographically is the badlands and deserts of the American Southwest. I usually spend several weeks exploring there every year in the fall to take advantage of cooler weather and colorful foliage. Travel throughout this entire region is challenging due to its massive size and the long driving distances […]
Dark Color Hills, Pisco, Peru

In August 2018, we travelled to Peru and Bolivia as members of an organised trip. Peru features a 1,555-mile (2,500 km) long, narrow desert strip along its Pacific coast, making up about 10% of the country and acting as one of the driest places on Earth. For that trip, I carried two identical Olympus cameras, […]
Cold Desert And Lake Manasarovar, Tibet

Lake Manasarovar in Tibet claims the title of one of the world’s highest freshwater lakes. The surrounding landscape is a high-altitude cold desert environment, with arid plains, rocky outcrops, and sparse vegetation. The harsh conditions contribute to the lake’s pristine and untouched beauty.
Buckskin Gulch, Kane County, Utah, USA

A significant portion of the state of Utah in the United States sits on the Colorado Plateau. The plateau is a geologic feature that has been uplifted as high as 10,000 feet above sea level and consists of sedimentary rock layers that are 270 million years old. The major rivers in the region, such as […]
