I often drive the many logging roads in the mountains surrounding the Comox Valley. On this winter day, I was seeking something different. As the forest was covered with fresh snow, I decided to go higher up this mountain and look for a clear view of what was below.

At this location, when I spotted the faraway mountains poking above the clouds, I saw what I was looking for. Putting my Canon camera on the tripod and attaching my lens, I walked around to select the best composition.

Then, after setting the aperture and shutter speed and adjusting the focus, I captured this image.

After processing the image in Lightroom with some minor adjustments, I printed it and hung it on my wall.
