The lake and the surrounding marshes are situated in the Indian state of Gujarat. Mainly inhabited by migratory birds in winter and spring, they form the largest wetland bird sanctuary in India.
We visited the bird sanctuary a couple of years ago. The tour of the sanctuary was on a small motorized boat, which took us around the marsh to observe many species of migratory birds. At the end of the very productive tour, we were greeted with some spectacular sunset views. Here is a shot taken just as the sun was setting over the marsh.
