I spent about a week in Tuscany in May 2026. The weather on the first few days was miserable, with a lot of rain. However, when the weather improved, there was sufficient moisture in the soil to create beautifully misty sunrises.
This photo was taken shortly after 6 a.m. in one of the most famous photography sites in Tuscany, looking over Podere Belvedere, near San Quirico d’Orcia. I had been taking photos in the same place for about an hour, and this was one of the last, before the sun got well above the horizon and the mist disappeared.
