I took this photo with a drone in Łomża Landscape Park, Poland. The river in the photo is the Narew. In this location, the river meanders, creating winding bends.
A riverbank always creates interesting guiding lines that can be used to compose landscapes. That’s what I wanted to achieve in this photo. Additionally, I wanted to have the effect of mist illuminated by the rising sun.
Using a special app, I determined that the best time to take a picture like this would be early July, when the sun rises at the right point on the horizon. All that was left to do was wait for a misty morning and then be in this place with the camera. On that morning, the mist over the river looked as if it was also winding. The 4:3 aspect ratio is the original proportion of the camera’s sensor.
