I had a hunch that the evening held promise for a nice sunset at one of my favorite locations, as Lake McDonald is just a short drive from my residence. The clouds went from orange to gold and then to vivid red as the sun sank further below the western horizon. Taken on December 30, it was a great way to end the year.
