I wanted to capture one of Derwent Water’s many jetties, used for the lake’s boat transports. Hawes End is one that faces east, so it is great for early morning shots. This was shot pre-dawn in what would have been blue hour—but the cloud cover prevented much color of any sort. I used a 6-stop ND to flatten the water and removed the land at the eastern edge of the lake in Photoshop to produce an ethereal look.
Still early days for me producing images, but I’m fairly happy with this one.
