A few years ago, I went on a photo tour of Cuba with my brother and a few friends. We visited several places and ended the trip with a few nights in the old pirate town of Trinidad.
On this particular evening, we drove to a small coastal town, Playa La Boca, for a sunset dinner by the beach beside the mouth of a small river where local fishermen ply their trade. We watched a few boats go out into the bay and cast their nets while the sun was setting over the water. I took this image as the sun was about to disappear below the horizon.
To get the foreground light enough and to create some blur on the water, I was using a graduated ND filter and a fairly long exposure, with my camera on a tripod. The boat in the distance was, thankfully, not moving much, allowing it to remain fairly sharp in my image.
