Summer in Grand Teton National Park is busy, and experiencing raw nature becomes more difficult among the crowds and traffic. As a result, dirt roads, or in this case, two-rut roads, become welcomed alternatives to those that are paved.

I drove out to an area beyond this location to seek out some wildlife and solitude, and I was fortunate to enjoy both. The drive back became just as plentiful as the setting sun and weather system came together in a scene of pastels that unfolded without interruption.

I look at this picture and recall the stillness of the evening, and I hope that comes through to the viewer. I love this area of the world; I love my memories and experiences there, and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to document evocative moments like this one that come and go without another witness.
