This shot was taken on a summer morning at Trillium Lake, a popular location for photographing Mount Hood in Oregon. I’ve visited this area many times since moving to this state two years ago; nevertheless, I always find myself coming back because no two mornings are ever the same.
On this particular day, the early wake-up call was more than worth it. As the sun began to rise, the sky lit up with wonderful shades of orange, pink, and purple, while the calm waters of the lake reflected Mount Hood with incredible clarity.
It was one of those unforgettable mornings that remind me why I love landscape photography.
