The small Pyrenean-oak forests stand out in the Montemuro Sierra, magnificent micro-landscapes full of biodiversity. These oak forests are compact, and light only enters through spaces in the tree canopies.
Visiting one of these forests a few days ago, I was marveling at the interplay of light and shadows inside the forest. Sunlight bathed some of the oak leaves, but the rest remained in shadow. Using the lens’s maximum aperture (f/4) allowed the leaves and the tree trunk to be in focus, while the background was slightly blurred, emphasizing the introspective atmosphere of this forest.
