I was completely enthralled by the smooth, silky, windblown, sculpted sand dunes in Namibia’s red sand desert near Dune No. 45. I went for a wee wander during the cooler, soft early evening light, where the low-angled sun revealed the textural ripples of windblown sand, with the sun illuminating the tops of the sparse vegetation beneath an electric blue sky. The colours were surreal.
