A family trip with our two kids, lasting six weeks, overlanding in a purpose-built truck from Capetown to Victoria Falls via Namibia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe.
We camped overnight in a group circle of tents, and this was the scene that greeted us at a well-known landmark, Dune 45, first thing in the morning. The colours of the early morning sun on the dunes beneath a laser-blue sky were extraordinary, as were our experiences during the whole trip.
In spite of the duration, the cost was remarkably reasonable and pretty much self-contained, with food, drink, tented accommodation, safari entry fees, driver, and transport all included. Everybody mucked in with cooking, washing up, and setting up chairs and tables, including all the kids. It was a hugely enjoyable adventure.
