Our trip to Lake Tahoe was planned around photographing the full solar eclipse in August 2017. Having experienced the eclipse, the next order of business was to capture the moment of sunrise at Eagle Falls, right off the Lake Rim Road. Having been there in the past, it was a matter of finding the spot to set up the tripod. The skies had been totally clear and cloudless, so I was somewhat apprehensive about the outcome of my venture.
Eagle Falls cannot truly be experienced other than by seeing the point where the water simply disappears over the edge. Nobody was there to join me, so I had free rein to roam and find my spot. Having done so, it was a matter of waiting for the magic moment. Sunrises, for me, set the tone for the day!
I was able to capture that moment and was rewarded with the sight of light reflecting off the leaves as an added bonus. It was well worth the early morning jaunt.
