I hadn’t visited Devon and Cornwall for some years. Along with my travel companion, I decided to revisit the area.

Spending a week in Okehampton as our base, we ventured out to locations in our memories. This particular day, we set off onto Dartmoor with a list of places to see again or for the first time. On the Moor, we came upon road works and diversion signs with no names of where that diversion would take us. There are very many narrow and winding roads in this part of the world.

Eventually, we arrived at Brentor with the church of St. Michael’s perched on top of a hill. My mind wondered why the church would be built there, quite a steep walk from the base of the hill.
