Spring in the ‘Ilsetal’ in the German Harz region. The river Ilse is one of those waters that remind me of a symphony, with quiet passages followed by a resounding chorus.
In one place, the Ilse gently ripples over the cobblestones, then a torrent or a majestic waterfall follows. The Ilse Valley is magically beautiful. Especially in spring, when the trees are still half bare and the first green leaves are emerging.
The area offers lots of photo opportunities for wide-angle landscapes, but intimate ones, as well as detail. Long exposures and capturing abstract images are also possible. This region and especially the river Ilse, is one of my favourite places to be.
