Cooper Mountain Park is a local nature park with beautiful forests and nice hiking trails. After an initial scouting trip, I found a section of twisted oaks covered in moss and lichen. I vowed to return when there was fog.
The right morning came the following week, so I rushed over at sunrise. As the frost in the meadow and forest evaporated with the rising sun, fog formed and filled the forest. When the sun rose high enough, glowing backlit light and beams appeared, creating some of the best forest light I’ve yet encountered. A great way to start the year.
