Donnelly Dome, Alaska, and the mountains rising behind it are the Alaska Range (specifically the Delta Mountains and Hayes Range of the Eastern Alaska Range). Standing as an isolated, glacially sculpted dome (a monadnock) rising out of the Delta River plains along the Richardson Highway, it frequently serves as a dramatic foreground subject for the high, snowcapped peaks behind it (such as Mount Hayes, Mount Moffit, and Mount Shand).
