One of the intriguing aspects of visiting the Big Sur coast is the element of surprise with regard to the weather. On this blustery day in May 2009, the cypress grove was no exception. The changing mood and pastel colors provided a perfect setting for this image.
The roots, seeking a path down the cliff, and the trees swaying away from the edge due to ever-changing weather patterns exemplify the coexistence of these trees in nature. A sense of calm and permanence is clearly evident.
