The leading lines in this photo were created following the collision of the African and European continents, causing sedimentary rocks to fold nearly vertically. The rocks bear witness to events over timescales that are hard to comprehend.
I was lucky to arrive when the tide was out and the area was accessible. The tide came in quickly, and within an hour the area was underwater.
