I’d been to White Pocket twice before, but used local guide companies to take me out there due to my lack of experience with off-roading in desert conditions, including deep sandstone sand. I finally decided I was ready to give it a try because I really wanted to experience sunset and sunrise there. I rented a 4X4 Ford Bronco and drove myself and my girlfriend out, and it was honestly quite a bit easier than I expected, thanks to that Bronco.
Not only was it a blast driving over the rock and through the sand, but the sunset (and sunrise) were absolutely amazing. Now I want to try going when there has been rain so I can get a sunset with those magical water puddles.
