Giant Beech, Oberbach, Rhoen, Bavaria, Germany

Autumn mood at the end of October in an old beech forest in the Bavarian Rhön. There are some very old and gnarly trees, like this giant beech, which has fascinated me for a long time.
Dark Botanical, Olympic Peninsula, WA, USA

The less-travelled Bogachiel and Quinault rainforests of the Olympic Peninsula offer incredibly lush temperate landscapes, with sprawling greenery even in the dead of winter, like the scene in this image, taken a few days after Christmas.
Hurricane Ridge, Olympic National Park, Port Angeles, Washington, USA

This was the first location we visited on my first trip to Olympic National Park. It was a long drive, but so worthwhile. The weather conditions changed quite a bit, with the fog rolling in and out. Nevertheless, the location offered us a beautiful panoramic view of the Bailey Range of the Olympic Mountains.
Mystical Forest, BR Hills Wildlife Sanctuary, Mysore, India

During our early morning safari, we noticed that the Forest Rays had created a mystical atmosphere.
Deep Woods, Hyalite Reservoir Trail, Gallatin County, Montana, USA

Lone Tree, Sage Ranch, Park County, Montana, USA

I have photographed this tree every time we’ve had brunch or lunch at Sage Ranch in Paradise Valley. Each time is different, and each time it looks pretty nice. Good clouds in this one!

They create a sense of wonder and tranquility, transforming the woodland environment into a mystical realm. Located in the southern part of India, BR Hills Wildlife Sanctuary features diverse forests that are home to a variety […]
Desert Road, Arava Desert, Israel

The biggest story behind this photo is that it was taken in the Arava Desert, where my wife and I went to escape for three days from the missiles during the last Iranian-Israeli war. It seems the Arava has nothing worthwhile to shoot. What was worthwhile to the camera’s eye, however, was the snaking Arava […]
Plitvice Lakes, Plitvice, Croatia

The Plitvice Lakes in Croatia offer truly unique views as you wander through these vast forests, thanks to the waterfalls that flow directly into the lakes. The photograph was taken during a scorching summer, so it’s best to visit in autumn to immerse yourself in the extraordinary beauty and harmony of colors and the surrounding […]
20 Thousand Islands, Chitwan National Park Buffer Zone, Sauraha, Nepal

Winter season in Nepal produces some amazing foggy conditions in forest areas. Sauraha town is a gateway to an amazing national park called Chitwan NP, teeming with wildlife. Right next to it is a buffer zone called 20 Thousand Islands that is, essentially, the same national park, but the area can be accessed independently by […]
