We associate autumn with trees stripped of their leaves—shapes that stand out in the landscape. While traveling through the Trás-os-Montes region a few days ago, I was marveled to see these oak trees atop a small hill. It was early morning, and the sky, a magnificent blue, had a few clouds. What a wonderful scenario!
