This shot was taken during a fall trip to Trillium Lake, a well-known spot near Mount Hood—the famous volcano located just outside Portland, Oregon.
While this location is usually crowded in the summer, it is much quieter in the fall, especially if you arrive early to capture the landscape’s beauty. I was rewarded for my early wake-up call with perfectly still water that beautifully reflected the surrounding nature. The mix of fall colors and morning fog reinforced the serenity and quiet of the area. Although I took many photos of the volcano’s reflection, I was particularly drawn to these two colorful trees framed by evergreens.
It was a great morning from both a personal and landscape photographer’s point of view.
