In 2021, shortly before or during the coronavirus pandemic, when the Fagradalsfjall volcano erupted, I visited Iceland for this reason. Of course, I also travelled around Iceland a bit and, as a result, also visited one of the most famous photo subjects in Iceland: Kirkjufell.
Thanks to the midnight sun, it wasn’t dusk until around midnight, so I had this photo spot all to myself. I enjoyed the peace and quiet in this otherwise probably very busy place and was able to fully realise my creativity. This photo is an HDR image made up of three shots to capture the full dynamic range of this atmosphere.
