Bhitarkanika Mangroves is a mangrove wetland forest in Odisha, India, covering an area of 650 km (400 mi) in the Brahmani and Baitarani river deltas, draining into the Bay of Bengal. The flow of waterways is controlled by tidal action.
Reptiles present in the mangroves include the saltwater crocodile, king cobra, Indian python, and water monitor. I saw several large saltwater crocodiles sunning on the shores. The photo was captured from a river boat.
