We chose to celebrate our wedding anniversary by trekking through Banff and Jasper National Parks. Toward the end of our third day, we found ourselves at the Sunwapta River. Watching the snow runoff cascading under our feet was captivating.
The Sunwapta River meanders through Jasper National Park (Alberta), providing a plethora of compositional possibilities for those who love to be mesmerised by movement. The runoff of the rock flour-filled glacial waters can fill an artist’s palette with various shades of blue, indigo, aqua, green and turquoise. The challenge for the artist is narrowing down the innumerable scenic choices.
