This was my second attempt to capture the sunset over the Sunrise area of the park. On the first attempt, a fog bank rolled in five minutes before the sun was about to fall behind the distant peaks of the Olympic Mountain Range!
Dege Peak is a short hike from either the Sunrise Visitor Center or the parking lot at Sunrise Point, on the way to the Visitor Center. On this occasion, I hiked from the Visitor Center late in the afternoon to scout a good location at the peak, which I had all to myself right through sunset. The image is constructed from 16 vertical frames merged together in Lightroom.
