We were on a 1,200-mile road trip that took us through Central and Southern Colorado from our Utah home. We visited Ouray, the Los Caminos Antiguos Scenic and Historic Byway, and Royal Gorge. The most scenic were our sunset and sunrise at the Great Sand Dunes National Park! We stayed on-site at the Great Sand Dunes Lodge so we could get the full experience.
This was taken at 5:30 AM local time. Light was just beginning to pour over the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. I loved seeing the shapes and textures spawned by the spreading light!
