Godafoss Mourns Under Grey Skies, Fossholl, Nordurland, Iceland

This image is a long-exposure panorama of a waterfall, created by stitching together seven individual photographs. I took each shot slowly, using a tripod to ensure precision and consistency. The long exposure smoothed out the water, turning the motion into a soft, flowing texture, while the rocks and cliffs remained sharp and grounded.

I chose to process it in black and white to emphasise the contrast and mood. Without color, the focus shifts to texture, light, and form—bringing out the drama in the sky, the force of the water, and the stillness of the surrounding rocks.

This wasn’t just a technical exercise; it was about creating a calm, almost surreal version of a powerful natural scene. A moment of intensity captured in a way that feels quiet and still.
