Buachaille Etive Mor Waterfall, Glen Coe, Scotland

This photo was taken over ten years ago, in 2015, when this photo spot was less well known. The friend I was travelling with suggested we might try to find it. The track from the roadside to where the car had been parked was visible, though not the well-trodden bog that it has sadly become.

Taken in April, there were still traces of snow on Buachaille, and just after 7 pm, the light was breathtaking, not to mention the sky. I’ve been back to the same spot more recently, but the conditions of my first visit have never been equalled, nor has the wonderful magic and sense of peace that it evoked at the time.
