Tom Kostes

I first fell in love with photography in the days of film. I would set up my darkroom in the kitchen at night, after the kids were asleep then, my wife Julie, and I would stay up all night developing and printing. It was very exciting. After a time I began to fall in love with color, not only with the works of photographers like Elliot Porter, but also the works of the impressionist painters, along with Picasso , Matisse and others. With my fine arts background, I tend to think of my camera as my paintbrush and lean towards the fine arts side of photography. I love capturing everyday life, showing the beauty, and miracle of it all.
