I have always enjoyed photography, but the need to work and balance family life meant that this was put on pause until shortly after 2000 when digital cameras could be bought for a reasonable price. The digital approach has also meant that with software such as Lightroom, one has much greater control over the finished product. Although the modern way is to display images digitally, I firmly believe that they should be printed out to gain the full impact. Often, I will create photo journals or books for longer trips. Few of my images are pre-planned in the sense that I go somewhere with the prime intention of taking a particular image; instead, I prefer to wander and see where the mood takes me.
